Choosing to see God’s grace

Hoyt Byrum

Yesterday I referenced Romans 12:2 which challenges us to be transformed by the “renewing of our minds.” I commented that how we feel and how we behave (hence, how we live) is not based so much on events that happen in our lives (we get a promotion, we get a bad medical report, etc.) but what we CHOOSE to believe regarding those events. I feel a need to stop speaking and simply share some scripture with you. In the days ahead I will “unpack” how these and many other verses relate to The 3G Lifestyle (the simplest yet most powerful way to live – in my opinion).

“Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.” James 1:2-4

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.” Isaiah 55:8,9

A place to start living the 3G Lifestyle is CHOOSING to see God’s grace in every one of life’s circumstances and letting grace produce in you a spirit of gratitude, even though you aren’t naturally thankful for all that happens. Not easy but totally liberating. Seeing God and what He is doing and trusting in what He is doing is what living the Christian life is all about. Don’t trust me in this. Trust Him. More to come. See you soon. Love to all.
